RASHEED NUJEERALLEE

SOLICITOR/DIRECTOR

Senior lecturer in law

Rasheed Nujeerallee trained as a barrister and subsequently qualified as a solicitor specialising in mental health and capacity law. Rasheed represents clients in relation to all aspects of the Mental Health Act. Though frequently appearing before the First-tier Tribunal and the Hospital Managers he can also assist and represent clients in relation to unlawful detention claims and conduct judicial reviews should the need arise.

Before deciding to focus exclusively on mental health law, Rasheed represented prisoners nationwide and was an experienced advocate before the Parole Board.

Aside from practice, Rasheed is a senior lecturer in law teaching on the barrister training course [BTC] and new solicitors qualifying exam [SQE].

Rasheed currently teaches criminal advocacy, evidence, criminal litigation, and conferencing.

HAYLEY TIMBRELL

FIRM ADMINISTRATOR

Hayley joined Nujeerallee Law in 2023.  Dedicated and committed, Hayley is personable with a long, diverse career in client facing roles both domestically and internationally. Hayley is one of the reasons the firm meets its administrative demands whilst being approachable and client care centred.

RUSSELL PARKES

CONSULTANT SOLICITOR

First-tier Tribunal Judge 

Russell Parkes joined the firm in January 2024 and is a long-standing member of the Law Society Mental Health Panel. Russell has been representing clients in Tribunals for over 30 years. He has a wealth of experience acting for both forensic and civil clients. 

Before primarily focusing on mental health law, Russell practiced crime and regularly appeared in court as a Solicitor Advocate. 

Russell was appointed as a fee paid Tribunal Judge in 2001 and sits as a Judge in both the Mental Health and Social Entitlement Chambers. 

Kayt Foster

KAYT FOSTER

CONSULTANT SOLICITOR

Kayt joined Nujeerallee law in January 2024.

Kayt is a highly experienced solicitor.

Though her primary expertise is mental health law, Kayt is an accomplished practitioner with previous practical experience of housing, family and childcare law.

Kayt is a passionate civil libertarian, who has been an accredited member of the mental health panel accreditation scheme for many years standing.

Having achieved a masters in the law relating to children, her academic credentials enable her to be analytical and thorough, whilst maintaining a client centred approach.

Elizabeth Beaney

ELIZABETH BEANEY

CONSULTANT TRIBUNAL REPRESENTATIVE

Elizabeth joined the firm in February 2024, and brings with her a wealth of experience. Such experience is not simply derived from her previous legal experience, but from business management. 

Having been a member of the Mental Health Accredited Panel since 2003, Elizabeth can readily assist clients with Hospital Managers’ and First-tier Tribunal hearings. Elizabeth can also assist with CPA/s117 meetings should the need arise. 

Thorough and client focused, Elizabeth is passionate about this area of law and always tries to make a real difference for her clients.
